‘Australia-Thailand Business Forum’ speech by Thai Minister of Finance

The Australian-Thai Chamber of Commerce (‘Austcham’) hosted the “Australia-Thailand Business Forum: Perspectives on Investment and Trade” as part of the Australia-Thailand Business forum to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Thailand-Australia Free Trade Agreement (TAFTA), at the Shangri La Hotel Bangkok on the 25th of June.

CLC Asia Managing Director, Christopher Larkin, in his capacity as Austcham director responsible for Government Affairs, assisted with organising the attendance of the Thai Minister of Finance, His Excellency, Sommai Phasee, to give the keynote speech at the event.

“After TAFTA was signed, our countries enjoyed an even stronger relationship” said HE Mr Sommai Phasee, in his keynote address. The bilateral trade relationship still has much potential, particularly with Thailand as a gateway for Australian trade and investment into ASEAN.

Over 100 guests from the private and public sectors discussed leveraging the commercial relationship in ways to contribute to both countries’ economic prosperity.
